June Product Update – Three New Products Now Available

Sheena-1-header Roy Thomas presents the Original Jungle Jane in exclusive three volume set…

She may still be everyone’s favourite yellow-tressed leopard-skin-clad Jungle Jane but, having made her first appearance almost 80 years ago (courtesy of Will Eisner and ‘Jerry’ Iger in the British mag Wags #1), Sheena, Queen of the Jungle ® could be forgiven for being somewhat less spritely swinging through the trees righting wrongs and wielding her knife. In 1938, she made it Stateside with her first showing in Jungle Comics #1 where she settled happily in every issue (plus a decade in her own title) until April 1953. There have been other incarnations, of course (you can’t keep a doll like Sheena down for long . . . though many have tried) but it’s this classic material that strikes at the very heart of Good Girl Art..

Now for the first time ex-Marvel editor Roy Thomas presents the original leopard-skin-clad Jungle Jane collected together in her own hardback collection. Features artwork from Robert Webb and Alex Blum.

They may have been Forbidden to some–particularly when the Wertham Seduction of the Innocent book hit the newsstands–but to kids the length and breadth of the United States (and a select few in the UK), Richard Hughes and his tremblin’ team of terrific tormenters were where it was at. Big time. And now, a half-century since the first issue appeared, ACG’s wonderful Forbidden Worlds are accessible once more . . . and this time in state-of-the-art hardcover volumes containing five to seven issues apiece. This is going to be one hell of a journey: come make it with us as we travel together through some of the most memorable comicbooks of all time.

About Forbidden Worlds – Volume Seven…
Weird, Mysterious and Spine-tingling stories featuring Issues 40-46 from January 1956 – September 1956 of the ACG classic Forbidden Worlds. Featuring an essay by Barry Forshaw, this seventh volume has been meticulously compiled from the original source material and painstakingly digitally restored.

You talk and we listen…
Hot off the heals of our first foray into Trade Paperback Editions comes the third part of strangest tales of fear and terror culled from the pages of Harvey’s Black Cat Mystery.

Due to be published July 2014, were making available the whole run of Black Cat Mystery available in a run of sumptuous softcovers, each volume containing five comicbooks but without the support material featured in the hardbacks.

Featuring Issues 40-44 from October 1952 – June 1953 these are gloriously printed on comic book-esque paper complete with glossy inserts for the covers. These are the closest thing to reading the original comics from back in the 1950s.
