FAWCETT COMICS
Fawcett Comics was a major American publisher known for creating Captain Marvel in 1940, one of the most popular superheroes of the Golden Age. Legal issues with DC Comics led to the cessation of Fawcett's superhero titles in the 1950s. Fawcett then shifted focus to other genres before exiting the comic book industry in 1953. DC Comics later licensed the Fawcett characters, leading to the revival of Captain Marvel and their integration into the DC Universe in 1972. Fawcett's impact on comic book history remains significant, especially for its creation of Captain Marvel and its influence on industry copyright laws.
