Harvey Comics: A Chilling History


Harvey Comics was founded in 1941 by Alfred Harvey as Harvey Publications. The company initially focused on publishing reprints of newspaper strips, but it eventually expanded into original content, creating some of the most beloved characters in comic book history. Harvey Comics is renowned for its family-friendly characters, including Casper the Friendly Ghost, Richie Rich, Little Dot, Little Audrey, and Wendy the Good Little Witch. However, during the early 1950s, Harvey Comics also delved into the horror genre. This era of horror comics, often referred to as Harvey Horror, produced several notable series that have since become cult classics.
